Check-in services at Abu Dhabi Airport have been reduced

Check-in services at Abu Dhabi International Airport have been reduced. Check in services have been reduced by AED 10. The check-in fee for an adult passenger has been reduced from Dh45 to Dh35. 25 dirhams per child and 15 dirhams per infant.

Abu Dhabi Airport has started using biometric systems to complete the immigration process. By utilizing the possibility of face recognition system, those arriving at the international airport can now pass their boarding pass with their own face. Abu Dhabi Airport has launched a system where passengers can get a travel permit within minutes without even showing their passport or immigration ID.

The move is part of controlling waiting time and congestion at the airport. Face recognition technology is currently being used at selected self-service baggage touch points, immigration e-gates and boarding gates. The system will be rolled out to more gates in the coming days.

Abu Dhabi plans to soon roll out the cutting-edge technology to more touchpoints and become the first international airport to use biometric systems at all touchpoints. Abu Dhabi Airport authorities also hope that the new technology will improve the travel experience of those arriving at the airport. State-of-the-art biometric cameras have been installed at each point of the airport and this will enhance security, officials said.
