With the help of his accomplice, a 36-year-old French woman, he tried to withdraw 14,000 euros from someone else’s bank account as a translator. But the 21-year-old bank employee noticed this and informed his superior, who immediately notified the Wels-Innere Stadt police station.

The police found the two suspects at the scene and arrested them. The 36-year-old was able to identify himself, the identity of the 54-year-old might only be determined by requesting the police cooperation center in Thörl-Maglern. The 36-year-old’s fake South African passport and mobile phone were seized.

The further investigations were taken over by the criminal department of the Wels city police command. The two suspects have already been questioned in writing and taken to the Wels prison yesterday on behalf of the Wels public prosecutor’s office.
