Asuncion, IP Agency.- The government’s housing program has a design that allows families to have guarantees in accessing credits, with a term of 20 or 30 years, and in the construction of homes, said the president of the Financial Development Agency (AFD), Stella Guillén.

This was a point discussed with the Ministry of Urban Planning, Housing and Habitat (MUVH) and other associated public entities, in order to safeguard citizens and ensure that families have the peace of mind that their investment will arrive in good condition, he added.

“That family earning 1 to 4 minimum wages, how much extra time do they have to go and find out regarding the quality of a developer? Where can they turn? So this model contemplates all those elements: a professional administrator in charge of verifying the construction quality, the administration of those resources, the administration of the property itself,” he said in his conversation with the Government spokesperson, Paula Carro.

Housing loans with an interest rate of 6.5% are an innovative solution to the problem that a family paying rent does not have the conditions to obtain a housing loan, he said.
