Workers from the basic companies of Guayana accompanied the Minister of Industries and National Production, Juan Arias, and the Governor of Bolívar state, Ángel Marcano, in a march from the CVG Bauxilum (La Piña) flask in Puerto Ordaz to the gates of CVG Alcasa for International Workers’ Day, in support of President Nicolás Maduro.
Also present at the rally was the regional vice president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Alexis Rodríguez Cabello; the mayor of Caroní, Tito Oviedo, the mayor of Angostura del Orinoco, Sergio Hernández, as well as authorities of the companies supervised by the Venezuelan Corporation of Guayana (CVG), Arquímedes Hidalgo, president of CVG Alcasa and vice-president of the PSUV labor sector in the condition.
According to the official document, Minister Arias gave a speech and took the opportunity to express his congratulations to Governor Ángel Marcano and those who direct the basic companies, “despite the problems we have advanced and confronted those who have wanted to break our economy from the outside.”
In turn, he stressed that he comes to work for the prosperity of the region. Marcano offered his support for “union and peace, we are the guarantee of peace in this country, we need peace to be able to produce.”
In statements by the regional president, he mentioned that the Siderúrgica del Orinoco Alfredo Manerio (Sidor), is operating the plant for pellets, oxygen, billets, bar and wire rod, hot flat products and slabs.
He added «Thanks to the Organic Labor Law left by Commander Chávez, the outsourcing of basic companies was eliminated. This historic document has been 10 years old, which together with the National Constitution, are the greatest legacies that Hugo Chávez left us.”
For his part, the territorial vice-president of the PSUV, Alexis Rodríguez Cabello, pointed out: “I congratulate all the workers of Guayana and Venezuela. Today marks the 10th anniversary of the Workers’ Organic Law, we have a worker president and a worker governor who is aware of his workers, let’s move on, because together we are invincible”, he closed.
Arquímedes Hidalgo, president of Alcasa and of the political and working class secretariat of Guayana, was one of the organizers of the activity and through a video on social networks he pointed out that it was the right occasion to celebrate 10 years since the enactment of the Organic Law of Labor and Workers (Lottt)
“On the street commemorating the 10 years since Lottt was signed, which gave the working class the opportunity to defend its conquest and give the country a new social and economic model,” Hidalgo said in a video.
“This working class that will continue to fight for our goals and for the legacy of Chavez.”
