At around 3.50 a.m. on Sunday night, police officers in Mariendorf wanted to check the driver (27) of a Renault who was driving too fast. But this one really went full throttle. As it turned out, he had many reasons for doing so…
The man turned around, turned onto Alt-Mariendorf in the direction of Rathausstrasse, drove through a red traffic light and crashed onto the sidewalk at the corner of Rathausstrasse and Königstrasse.
The driver then fled on foot. The police officers managed to catch up with him – arrest!
Meanwhile, the police noticed that the vehicle was smoking and catching fire in the engine compartment. The fire brigade was finally able to extinguish the vehicle.
A breath alcohol test carried out voluntarily showed the driver a value of around 0.4 per mille.
As it turned out, the man did not have a driver’s license, the license plates do not belong to the Renault, and the vehicle was probably stolen. There are now several ads.
