Charter of the Transition: the Burkinabè in phase with the conclusions of the assizes

#Other countries : Forty-eight hours following the closure of the national meeting on the refoundation, the opinions of the Burkinabè converge in particular on the duration of the Transition and on many other aspects.

In Burkina, the national refoundation meetings completed their work on Tuesday, March 1, 2022, with the validation of the Transition Charter, the Transition Agenda and the Transition Values Charter.

48 hours following the end of the work, the opinions of Burkinabè converge in particular on the duration of the Transition (36 months). Many citizens believe that the conclusions of these meetings are in line with their aspirations.

“We must change course, we must ensure that our actions can go in the direction of the refoundation of our country, go in the direction of total change,” said Herman Zoungrana.

“It is time for us, people of Burkina Faso, to overcome these questions. Because the management of a nation is not relative to the number of terms a president must serve. It is rather the question of what is done on the ground,” adds Tatiba Guildo.

Also, two of the three main points to remember from this charter are the number of ministers of the government of the Transition, which should not exceed twenty-five members and seventy-one members under the Legislative Assembly. Figures on which the Burkinabè are obviously divided. But, for the greatest number, it is the happiness of the people that matters.

“What we went through was quite a difficult context. We understood and learned the lesson which is that good intentions alone are not enough to have good ideas”, argues Jules César Wangré for whom the political actors as a whole have failed in the face of their responsibilities.

“Not wasting a lot of time is an aspect that the President of Faso takes into account to ensure that the momentum in which we must go in order to be able to resort to the stability of the country, we can devote our energies to fighting strong”, believes Herman Zoungrana.

The most obvious is that the Burkinabè are waiting to judge President Damiba piecemeal. However, for many analysts, this charter is a form of consensus which tries as much as possible to respond in a concern for balance to the aspirations of the people of Burkina Faso and to the demands of the partners on governance and democracy.
