“It is the most probable thesis”, mention the authorities.

Mystery still hangs over the causes and circumstances of the blaze. Officers from the SQ Major Crimes Section continue to investigate, but no arrests have been made at this time.

At the end of the day yesterday, the police were trying to see if there were tire tracks in the gravel in order to establish a link with the possible presence of another vehicle at the scene of the fire.

The body of the victim was transported to the Laboratory of Forensic Sciences of Forensic Medicine. Expert appraisals will also be necessary in order to identify the vehicle badly damaged by the fire.

According to our information, the van was stolen in Sainte-Marie-de-Beauce and the individual was found in the back seat.

However, it is too early in the investigation process for the Sûreté du Québec to confirm this information.

Recall that around 3 p.m. yesterday, the emergency services were first called to intervene to control the fire of a vehicle in a field bordering St-Pierre row.

A person’s body was subsequently found inside and an investigation has been opened.
