In the spring of 2013, Vevey was in turmoil: it was on the shores of Lake Geneva that director Xavier Beauvois directed Benoît Poelvoorde and Roschdy Zem. In “The Ransom of Glory”, the two actors play the robbers who stole Charlie Chaplin’s coffin in 1978 to obtain a ransom. The famous director is buried in Corsier-sur-Vevey, a village in which he lived for the last twenty-five years of his life, and this news item had shaken the whole region.
