‘Charlie Chaplin’ roaming the streets of Islamabad

Ali, who was walking around as Charlie Chaplin in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, was inspired by Charlie Chaplin’s videos and decided to continue it after seeing the acceptance of people.

Ali told Independent Urdu that if he had the complete equipment, he could do many more roles besides Charlie.

According to Ali, he can do more than 500 roles.

Ali, who is fond of acting in comedy dramas, says that if he gets a chance, he can act in dramas in other roles along with comedy dramas.

He says, ‘I had a childhood crush on the legendary Hollywood actor and impersonated Charlie Chaplin 18 years ago.’

According to Ali, he can play other roles but people encourage him by seeing him in the role of Charlie.

Ali said ‘I don’t know myself that I can do so much as Charlie, some roles I have done suddenly and people have got a lot of appreciation for them, children and old people all like this role. They also take selfies with me and make videos too.’

What things does Ali take care of to become Charlie?

According to Ali, he buys three to four thousand rupees from the market to impersonate Charlie. He makes the mustache himself while using white base on the face.

He has specially designed the stick used in his hand for his character while the cigar seen in his hand is made from a single piece of wood. They have the rest which they have imported.

‘I want to give these things more real color,’ he says.

‘People say look Charlie’s here’

Ali says, ‘When I go to shopping malls or parks in Islamabad, people say, ‘Look, Charlie is going, people are happy to see me.’

According to him, ‘about 80 percent of people are quite happy to see me, but there are some people who make noises or say strange things when they see me in this form, but I ignore them.’

‘Little children are afraid of me’

Ali said that ‘when I go to various shopping malls as Charlie, children are happy to see me, but there are also some children who get scared when they see me.’

According to Ali, ‘There are some children who even take selfies and then touch and hug and ask their parents to take Charlie home with them. ‘

‘Seeing the children’s love also gives me a lot of motivation to see how much people love my character of Charlie.’
