The Minister of Justice and Human Rights, Alphonse Charles Wright, is summoned to appear tomorrow Thursday, June 22, 2023, before the court of first instance in Dixinn. This appearance follows a complaint brought by the leaders of the National Front for the Defense of the Constitution (FNDC), once morest the Keeper of the Seals for “illegal” detention.

Several observers are wondering whether the Guinean Keeper of the Seals will appear, given the position he occupies in the transitional government. Asked regarding the subject by our colleagues from TV5, the president of the National Transitional Council (CNT), Dr. Dansa Kourouma, maintains that the minister is not above the law.

“I specify that the judicial process, that is to say the criminal law will be respected in our country. So we have a code of criminal procedure which was moreover recently revised by the National Council of the Transition, which constitutes the essential element for the management of all legal disputes in our country. So, what concerns the Minister of Justice concerns all Guinean citizens”, hinted Dr Dansa Kourouma on the set of TV5 monde.

In exile for more than a year now, the leader of the UFDG recently announced that he will soon return to Guinea. Only some Guinean citizens fear that he will be arrested once in Guinea because of his involvement in the Air Guinea file.

The president of the CNT who says he is convinced of the independence of Guinean justice, insists on the obligation of each actor who has held a portion of responsibility in this country, to respond when justice needs him.

“Guinean justice has never been as independent as it is now. I mean that the level of independence that Guinean justice has reached today, we intend to make this level irreversible. Impunity is the essential factor which has corrupted the economic socio-political life of Guinea, which has prevented the country from acquiring enormous potentialities, from developing. Today, no one is supposed to be above the law. For me, all Guineans are equal before the law and no one is above the law,” he insists.

Dr Dansa Kourouma also welcomed the fact that the economic and financial crimes which are classified as imprescriptible crimes, in particular the case of crimes committed in 2009 at the Conakry stadium, are being judged today by a competent court.
