Charleroi airport (BSCA) has decided to close its doors, BSCA management indicated on Tuesday followingnoon in a new message published on its website, where it specifies that this decision is linked to the will to maintain passenger safety. “It will therefore no longer be possible to access or enter the airport terminal”added the management of BSCA.
For the second day in a row, the airport is experiencing major disruptions following the strike by security personnel from the company Security Masters, who are usually responsible for screening passengers. Its agents have been denouncing for several weeks BSCA Security’s desire to split a future security market (passenger screening) between two companies, fearing that this decision might lead to situations of competition between the personnel of the two service providers.
The situation, already tense on Monday, continued to deteriorate on Tuesday, causing very strong disruption.
Many passengers were unable to catch their flight
