Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) announced on the 3rd that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with electric vehicle charging companies such as SK Electric Link and GridWiz, an electricity demand response (DR) operator, to expand the electric vehicle charging plus DR business in Jeju Island at the Jeju Booyoung Hotel.
The Plus DR project is a system in which, when the amount of renewable energy generation such as solar power increases and the amount of power supply exceeds the demand for power, the customer’s power use is adjusted to match supply and demand at a specific time, and the charging service provider compensates the participating customers. . Charging operators such as ChargeBee, Scalar Data, and TVU also joined the agreement on this day. KEPCO uses ChargeLink, a Plus DR brokerage platform developed by KEPCO, to deliver charging station and time zone information received from DR operators to charging operators. Customers can receive a discount on their electric vehicle charge at a specific charging station and time slot.
