The father of the silver medalist of the Olympics Alexandra Trusova really put forward a number of requirements for Channel One to appoint commentators and presenters with the participation of the figure skater, RBC was told in the press service of Channel One.
“First” has always covered the career of Alexandra Trusova correctly and with respect for her work and achievements, in sports broadcasts, news releases and special materials dedicated only to Alexandra. This season, her father Vyacheslav Trusov really put forward a number of demands, among others – for the appointment of commentators and presenters of any programs involving Alexandra, as well as criticism of her, ”the press service said.
The channel’s press service noted that “First” “would like to retain the right to independently choose sports commentators and experts.” “They have the right to freely express their professional opinion on the air. Taking this opportunity, we wish Alexandra a speedy recovery, we look forward to her performances at tournaments next year, which, as always, we will definitely show,” the press service noted.
Previously telegram channel Mash informedthat the figure skater’s father demanded that Channel One remove Olympic champion Alexei Yagudin and honored coach of the USSR Tatyana Tarasova from commenting on performances and all events involving Trusova, otherwise she would not participate in additional filming (interviews, training). It is noted that the management of the channel refused to agree to these conditions, following which the logo of Channel One disappeared from the figure skater’s Olympics.
Salt Lake City Olympic champion Yagudin called Trusova’s father’s demands nonsense and said that he “won’t let anyone touch” Tarasova. Last stated “Sport-Express” that Trusova is already an adult and can turn to her herself, “if something is wrong.”
For the first time regarding the conflict between Trusova and Channel One became known in November at the stage of the Russian Grand Prix in Samara. Two-time Olympic champion Maxim Maxaim Trankov, who commented on the competition, did not turn off the microphone following the skater skated and said: “Well, Trusova is everything … For Channel One.” After that, the figure skater went to the journalists without the TV channel patch on the sleeve of the olympic shirt.
