Qualified professionals are taking more risks, as shown recently search by Robert Half. According to the study, 49% of respondents intend to change jobs in 2023. The desire reflects the positive conditions of the labor market which, according to the Robert Half Trust Index (ICRH) of 2022, operates with an unemployment rate of 4% among skilled workers.
The general unemployment rate, which also includes professionals aged over 25 and with higher education, was 8.7% in the same period. In both cases, the rates are the lowest since 2015, which demonstrates a recovery in the labor market.
When asked regarding the purpose of the change, 61% want to stay in the same area but at another company. Already 39% of respondents intend to change area, segment or profession.
The data also show that the main reasons that lead professionals to change jobs are: better opportunities for growth (72%), higher salary (53%), new challenges (48%), more attractive benefits (35%) and remote or hybrid work (33%). For TCHPAY’s Commercial Director, Gracielle Guimarães, “the job market is increasingly dynamic. Companies must use resources to avoid losing employees, even more so if they are extremely qualified professionals. At that moment, using benefit cards or investing in corporate awards can be a differential for the professional to choose to stay”, she explains.
When asked regarding the reason for changing areas, 71% are looking for higher wages, 51% said it was to have a better quality of life, 47% are following personal achievements, 38% want to learn something new and 35% prefer more flexibility. According to the 22nd edition of the ICRH, the reasons that most attract professionals to a company are remuneration, benefits package, possibility of growth, balance between professional and personal life and good relationship with colleagues.
“The incentive campaign is a strategy that encourages healthy cooperation between employees and recognizes the high performance of each one. In addition, it is possible to recognize that long-time employee in the company or the employee who discovers she is pregnant, for example. Retaining good professionals is an ever-increasing challenge”, concludes Gracielle.
