How much is the minimum wage increasing?
Hello Marina,
Like many French people, you have heard of an increase in the minimum wage from January 1, 2024.
This revaluation is added to other changes such as the possibility of now obtaining a license at 17 years old, or the increase in the price of a pack of cigarettes.
As of this Monday, January 1, the SMIC or minimum growth wage is automatically increased by 1.13% due to the increase in prices. It goes from 1,383.08 euros net monthly to 1,398.69 euros, an increase of 15.61 euros net per month.
The basic salary of public officials is, for its part, increased by five index points on January 1, i.e. a monthly increase of around 25 euros gross.
