The end of the sales
The summer sales, which were originally due to end on July 25, have been extended by a week by the government. This extension was decided to support traders in difficulty following the riots linked to the death of Nahel. The summer sales will therefore end this Tuesday, August 1 at 11:59 p.m.
Declaration of real estate, it’s over
Since January 1, 2023, owners of real estate must declare real estate for residential use. Owners have until July 31 to log in to the site. impot.gouv.fr. To facilitate the declaration of individuals, the government has drawn up a document summary.
Increase in electricity tariffs
From August 1, electricity will cost 10% more. This increase applies to everyone, both for households and small businesses. For a fireplace heated by electricity, the increase will represent on average 150 euros per year.

Despite this measure, the rate shield will continue to cover around a third of energy bills. However, this increase is the first step in a gradual exit from the rate shield, which should end by early 2025.
The end of systematic receipts
Several times postponed, this measure provided for by the AGEC law aims to no longer print receipts. The government therefore aims to reduce waste, which currently represents 12.5 billion tickets per year, 150,000 tonnes of paper, 25 million trees cut down and 18 billion liters of water used according to ADEME (Agence de environment and energy management). From now on, to obtain a ticket, you will have to claim it when you go to the checkout.

Change on savings products
The People’s Savings Account (LEP) lost 0.1 point and fell from 6.1% to 6% as of August 1st. On the other hand, its ceiling is raised, from 7,700 euros to 10,000 euros.
The annual interest rate of the Sustainable and Solidarity Development booklet (LDDS), indexed to the interest rate of the Livret A, is blocked at 3%, until January 2025. In terms of savings, the yield of the Livret A will also remain unchanged at 3%.
Payment of the Back to School Allowance
From August 1, 2023, eligible families will be able to receive the Back to School Allowance (ARS). This aid concerns parents of children between the ages of 6 and 18enrolled in a public or private school, in apprenticeship or cared for in a specialized establishment.
To be eligible, the household resources must not exceed certain ceilings: €25,775 for families with 1 child, up to €43,619 for 4 dependent children, with a supplement of €5,948 per additional child. The ARS is automatically paid to families receiving benefits from the Family Allowance Fund, with children aged 6 to 15. For other cases, some administrative procedures are necessary. Note that the conditions are different for Mayotte.
