Like many other social networks, TikTok imposes an age limit for creating an account. In this case, the minimum age required to be able to use the platform is 13 years old.
However, when you enter your date of birth, it is possible that an error will be made. Of course, you can rectify it but, for matters of protection of minors, the process is a bit special.
Indeed, it is not enough to go to the settings of the application, it will be essential for you to contact the customer service of the platform. We explain how to do it step by step.
As explained above, to change your age on TikTok, you must necessarily go through the application’s customer service. For that :
- Open TikTok and tap Profile
- Go to the three horizontal lines in the upper right corner of the screen
- Touch Settings and Privacy
- Scroll through the menu and press to report a problem
- Press on Account and profile
- Go to Modify the profile, then on Other.
- Press on Need additional help?
- Write down a message like: “my date of birth is incorrect, I would like to change it” and confirm by touching Rapport.
Following this, you should receive a reply on the email address associated with your account, prepare a photo of an official ID document proving your date of birth.
