In a personal conversation with sports director Christoph Brummayer, the previous head coach Markus Waldl informed those responsible that he would like to make his coaching position available in Traunseestadt with immediate effect.
“Of course we’re all not happy with the points we’ve scored so far. But the last game in Weißkirchen, where we fought for a point after being 2-0 down early on, showed that the team is in good shape. Until the winter break, the previous assistant coach Stefan Lehner will look after the team on an interim basis with the support of sports director Christoph Brummayer and Christian Schögl. Brummayer and Lehner had already looked after the club from the Salzkammergut in the previous season and led them to the championship title in the Regional League West. Waldl only took over in the summer because Brummayer took up the job of athletic director.
The coming weeks will be doubly intense for the 45-year-old: In terms of sport, the trend should be turned around after five games without a win, and off the pitch it is important to find a new coach.
