CHAN is not just a continental sporting event, but one more opportunity for Algeria, the host country, to show all its hostility towards Morocco.
After the refusal of authorization for the RAM flight which was to transport the national team, the opening ceremony of the competition was marked by the participation of the grandson of Neslon Mandela whose speech was resolutely political and hostile to the Morocco and its territorial integrity.
In response, the Royal Moroccan Football Federation denounced in a press release, “the malicious actions and despicable maneuvers that accompanied the opening of CHAN”.
The FRMF notes “the flagrant violation of the laws governing football events that take place under the banner of CAF, following an out-of-context speech aimed at conveying political untruths that have nothing to do with football”.
Consequently, the Royal Moroccan Football Federation announces that it has written to CAF to assume its full responsibilities in the face of these flagrant and remote breaches of the principles and ethics of football.
