Champions of Greece in table tennis athletes of Ikaros Kastritsios – 2024-04-24 11:30:55

Great success for the athletes of AES Ikaros Kastritsiou in the Panhellenic U13 Table Tennis Championship held in Patras.

In particular, the athletes Spyros Fousekis and Stefanos Mavromatakis were crowned champions of Greece in the U13 doubles competition, defeating all the opposing teams with the absolute set (3-0).

Also, Stefanos Mavromatakis was also crowned the Greek Champion in the U13 singles and Spyros Fousekis won the bronze medal in the same event.

Athletes Spyros and Alexandros Fousekis, Stefanos Mavromatakis (athlete of AO Chania who strengthened Ikaros this year – with promising results), Michalis Bithavas (athlete of Foinikon Glyfadas Patras who strengthened Ikaros this year – with promising results) and Maximos Polychronopoulos managed to conquer third place (Bronze medal) in the U13 team championship. In fact, they narrowly lost (3-2) in the semi-final against the Florina team.

Also, Stefanos Mavromatakis with teammate Anastasia Michalaru and Spyros Fousekis with teammate Elpida Tassiou won the Bronze medal in the U13 mixed event.

The above successes of the home club highlight the excellent work done by the coaches of Ikaros, Dimitris Nikolopoulos, Yiannis Aivaliotis, Andrea Tsengene and Takis Polychronopoulos.

The association of Patras, which was reactivated after the pandemic, has a large academy for learning the secrets of Table Tennis for young children, and several of its members are expected to distinguish themselves in similar championships in the coming years.
