They will therefore be 1,800 privileged people to be able to attend from the Santiago Bernabeu stadium the round of 16 second leg of the Champions League between PSG and Real Madrid, Wednesday March 9. A lower number than in previous years in the Spanish capital for one main reason: the work on the Real enclosure. The quota of places reserved for the visiting team is reduced compared to previous seasons.
In 2019, 3,000 PSG fans were able to make the trip for the draw in the group stage (2-2). In February 2018, for the round of 16 first leg lost (1-3), they were 4,000, including a thousand ultras. But the Santiago Bernabeu stadium has been under construction for almost two years and its general capacity has fallen from 80,000 to around 50,000 currently. Even if Real hopes to welcome 10,000 more fans for this round of 16, places reserved for visitors are limited.
Renowned for their songs
PSG have already sold all available tickets, by two means: a pack at 420 euros or a single ticket at 70 €, the minimum price to attend the clash at the Bernabeu, wherever you are in the stadium. The organized trip includes return flights between Paris and Madrid, as well as the ticket and transfers between the airport and the stadium. All the members of the Collectif ultras Paris (CUP) – there are nearly 3,000 – cannot make this trip, some of them have already planned a solidarity action with adolescents hospitalized at Pitié-Salpêtrière (13th arrondissement from Paris).
The Parisian contingent is often praised for their songs during their European trips. This was the case in Liverpool (3-2 defeat) in September 2018, Manchester United (2-0 success) in February 2019 or in Dortmund (2-1 defeat) in February 2020. The appointment is once once more made for the Bernabeu stadium in a week.
