In the Champions League, each club will now be guaranteed a minimum of eight matches in the league stage against eight different opponents (four home and four away), rather than the previous six fixtures against three teams, played home and away. The eight best teams of the league will automatically enter the playoffs, and the teams ranked from ninth to 24th will fight for tickets to the 1/8 finals in two-match confrontations. Teams that finish in positions from 25th to 36th will cease to compete in the European Cups.

The first round of the general stage will take place on September 17-19.
