Manchester City and Leipzig are the first to qualify
Erling Haaland scored twice as City easily qualified for the knockout stage with two matches to go. The prolific striker opened the scoring from the penalty spot before Phil Foden scored the second goal from a tight angle. Then Haaland shot the ball from outside the penalty area to maintain City’s perfect record and ensure qualification from Group G. Young Boys player Sandro Lauber was sent off for a second yellow card.

The goals came from Niklas Volkrug and Julian Brandt in each half, and despite conceding two goals, Newcastle goalkeeper Nick Pope saved his team from a major loss and threatened the visitors with a comeback, through Joelinton, and it was considered Newcastle’s most dangerous chances.

Milan turns the tables on Paris Saint-Germain
Milan completed a remarkable comeback to secure their first win in Group F at the expense of Paris Saint-Germain. The Rossoneri fell behind when former Inter defender Milan Skriniar scored from a header. The hosts responded in style with a close-range overhead kick from Rafael Leao, following former Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma denied Olivier Giroud. The French striker pounced shortly following half-time, scoring the winner but this time heading it into Theo Hernandez’s center, out of Donnarumma’s reach. Substitute Kang In Lee hit the post late on.
