Woori Financial Group announced on the 17th that Chairman Son Tae-seung would hold the first overseas IR (investment briefing session) since the corona pandemic.

Chairman Son will conduct IR for 3 days and 2 nights from this day. The destination is Singapore. This schedule was originally planned to be held in the first quarter of this year, but was postponed to this month due to the temporary spread of global Omicron.

This overseas IR, which will be conducted for the first time in two years after the corona pandemic, will be conducted for large global asset management companies located in Singapore.

Chairman Sohn Tae-seung will directly explain the current state of the Korean macro-economy, as well as the financial performance achieved by Woori Financial Group since the transition to a holding company, as well as non-financial performance in the ESG and digital sectors.

In particular, we plan to actively communicate with global investors about the mid- to long-term vision of Woori Financial, which has been fully privatized, and ways to enhance corporate value through shareholder-friendly management.

Meanwhile, the foreign ownership of Woori Financial Group has increased by more than 6 percentage points this year, recording the highest share price increase among the four major financial holdings despite the overall slump in the KOSPI.

The reason for such a rise in the proportion of foreigners and stock prices is interpreted as a result of reflecting the market’s expectation that Woori Financial’s profit and loss improvement will be very high during the corona pandemic along with the rise in interest rates. In addition, the improvement of asset quality over the past three years and favorable reviews in ESG and digital fields also seem to have contributed.

In addition, as the number of outstanding shares increased due to the complete privatization of Woori Financial Group, the proportion of inclusions in MSCI and FTSE indexes, which are major global indices, also increased. As foreign investment demand linked to these indices increases, the sound stock price is expected to continue for the time being.

A Woori Financial official said, “Starting with this Singapore IR, IR in the Americas is scheduled for June.
