With the right ideas and a little skill, a lot can be done with old chairs: For example, a colorful chair gallery for the dining table or cool decorative objects for the entrance to the house, apartment or garden. In the “Chair Upcycling” workshop at the Hannover Land Adult Education Center (VHS), participants can beautify their own chairs. If you don’t have an old chair available, the VHS will provide you with a chair free of charge. The next “chair upcycling” workshops will take place from October 27th to 29th, 2023 at the VHS office in Großburgwedel (course no. 232KH3021) and from November 17th to 19th at the VHS office in Bissendorf (course – No. 232KH3024).
Lecturer Viola Wahner emphasizes that old chairs can still become true design objects even when they are broken or worn out. Upcycling (word combination from the English “up” – upwards – and “recycling” – reuse) waste products or useless objects are brought back to life. In this workshop, participants will learn how to skillfully showcase their old chairs.
