Twitter account “OECUF” is popular for being related to a variety of major anime industry leakers, such as SUGOI Lite. It is because of this that every minimal update that you make gives something to talk regarding, but obviously something related to Chainsaw Man It had to become a trend immediately.
The account shared the update regarding the “CHAINSAW MAN FESTIVAL“, an event that will take place on May 20 in Japan. In fact, the anime’s first Blu-ray/DVD package will include priority passes to purchase tickets (that’s right, it’s not a free pass to the event, but a pass to ensure you get a chance to buy one). Apparently, the fact that the leaker mentioned the event made fans begin to assure that important announcements will arrive on that date.
However, it is more than evident that a second season of Chainsaw Man it’s a reality, considering not only the success and history of the franchise, but the way the last episode of the series ended (introducing a key character from the upcoming story arc). Thus, in reality the unknown is “when will it be announced“, and the special event in May seems like the perfect opportunity, albeit a long way off.
The series aired during the season of Autumn-2022 (October-December) and had a total of twelve episodes, while the platform Crunchyroll is in charge of its distribution in the West. On the other hand, Fujimoto began the publication of the manga Chainsaw Man in the magazine Weekly Shonen Jump from the publisher Shueisha in December 2018, finishing the first part in December 2020. The second part of the work moved to the digital service Shonen Jump Pluswhere it has been published since July 2022.
Synopsis of Chainsaw Man
The story takes place in a world where Demons threaten the peace of humans, making them targets to be eliminated. Denji is a depressed young man who has sold several of his organs and works as a lumberjack and demon hunter to pay off his late father’s debt. Denji owns a dog (which is also a demon) named Pochita, who has chainsaws and which he uses to do his work.
This is explained because humans can make contracts with demons. After returning home from a job, Denji is called by a Yakuza to infiltrate a building and kill another demon. However, the plan was a trap to assassinate him as part of a Yakuza contract with the demon, gaining them more power. But Pochita comes to Denji’s aid and bonds with him, becoming a half-man, half-demon and acquiring Pochita’s chainsaws.
