On December 14, CH Charles Perrens inaugurated its new Aquitaine Regional Unit for Depression and Resistant Anxiety (RADAR). This innovative device is intended, among others, for caregivers who are victims of professional burnout. Communiqué.

Major depression is one of the most common psychiatric disorders. It is often associated with other conditions, including anxiety disorders. It is generally severe in intensity, then responsible for significant disruptions in social, family and professional functioning. Relapses are one of its characteristics, which may require specific and adapted therapeutic care.
This is why CH Charles Perrens created the RADAR Unit, responding to an obvious need in mental health.

Open since September 2023, this innovative unit has 10 full-time hospitalization beds and 3 places in the Day Hospital. Made up of a multi-disciplinary team of 25 people (psychiatrists, healthcare executives, nurses, caregivers, psychologist, ASH and social worker), its objective is to improve the care of patients suffering from characterized and/or resistant depressive disorder with a retrospective look at anxiety comorbidities and to facilitate the care of caregivers suffering from professional burnout.

Attached to the General and University Psychiatrist Unit (PGU) and under the responsibility of Professor Bruno Aouizerate, the RADAR unit completes the establishment’s care offering in the field of depression and resistant anxiety with the Center for regional reference for anxiety pathologies and depression (CERPAD) and the Resistant Depression Expert Center, certified by the Fondamental Foundation.
Finally, the opening of this new hospitalization unit strengthens the positioning of CH Charles Perrens as a referral and research establishment in the field of mental health.
