CULEMBORG • During the Seniors Event of Senioren Collective Culemborg on January 27, guests were surprised with the arrival of the world-famous Cesar Zuiderwijk, the drummer of The Golden Earring at the time.

He walked onto the stage out of nowhere during a beautiful video show. He explained his presence and said that he had done a favor to Culemborg’s Max Smidt, the producer and director of the Event. He was happy to grant his request to participate in the Event as a mystery quest.

Certificate of presence
After performing at the Amstel Live concert on the eleventh evening, he still came to make an appearance the following followingnoon in Culemborg. The same evening as the Event he appeared as a jury member on the TV program Tribute of the bands.

The Event was dedicated to 100 years of television. Those present were treated with 100 well-known TV images that had the most impact or impression on viewers and society.

Today Inside
The show ‘100 years of television’ ended with the much-watched TV program Today Inside from SBS6. The Golden Earring cover band The Clarks regularly performed in this TV program and every now and then Cesar would play a drum part. Hence the producer’s invitation to Cesar to also join this beautiful Event in Culemborg, since this band The Clarks was on the program.

Surprised
The visitors to the Event were very surprised with this mystery guest. This was the icing on the cake of this beautiful, memorable and enjoyable followingnoon. The followingnoon then ended with a Bread & Butter concert by The Clarks with, of course, drum accompaniment from Cesar Zuiderwijk.

The followingnoon was provided and organized by Senioren Collectief Culemborg with thanks to all employees and especially Max Smidt, who was in charge of the entire direction and production. Financial support was provided by Neighborhood Panel Culemborg, ElkWelzijn, Dokman Tweewieler Specialist and DS party and event center.
