Although the release of the Galaxy S23 series is still several months away, this flagship series is expected to appear in the first quarter of next year, and the top-of-the-line Ultra model is said to have obtained 3C certification in China. According to the certification documents, the Galaxy S23 Ultra is believed to be numbered SM-S9180, and its fast charging capabilities are weaker than this year’s Galaxy S22 Ultra.
Galaxy S23 Ultra gets 3C certification
The website myfixguide reported that the Galaxy S23 Ultra supports up to 25W (11V @2.25A) charging in the 3C document, which is lower than the current 45W charger supported by the Galaxy S22 Ultra. However, the report also mentioned that with the Galaxy S22 Ultra paired with 25W and 45W chargers, the actual charging time is not far behind. The former can charge 61% in 30 minutes, while the latter only charges 60%.
25W, 45W charging time is not far behind
To charge the Galaxy S22 Ultra from 0% to 100%, the 25W took 64 minutes, while the 45W only took 59 minutes, which is only 5 minutes faster. Tests have shown that the Galaxy S22 Ultra only lasts a short period of time at 45W, but a longer charge at 25W. Although the battery technology of the Galaxy S22 Ultra is not necessarily the same as the Galaxy S23 Ultra, Samsung may use this to narrow the charging of both. There is a time gap, so 25W charging is used in the new machine.
