certificates available from this Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at SOSUP –

The Secretariat for School, University and Professional Guidance (SOSUP) announced in a press release that university guidance certificates for new high school graduates who have expressed the wish to study abroad, in public institutes and Grandes écoles in Gabon will be available from this Tuesday, August 6, 2024.

“It seems important to recall that, in application of the provisions of articles 101 and 102 of law no.o 21/2011 of 14 February 2012 on the general direction of Education, training and research, the orientation of scholarship students from the State or any other public authority outside Gabon must be justified by: the non-existence of courses and levels of training in national establishments; the adequacy between the training and the development objectives (training in a course deemed a priority), the means of the nation and the skills of the student”indicated the press release signed by the Permanent Secretary of SOSUP, Jérémie Mikombo.

The public institutes and colleges in Gabon concerned by these guidelines include: the preparatory classes for the Grandes écoles of the Léon Mba national high school, the Masuku Polytechnic School, the National Higher Institute of Agronomy and Biotechnology, the Higher Institute of Organizational Sciences, the Higher Normal School of Technical Education and the National Institute of Management Sciences.

To benefit from the orientation, new high school graduates were asked to provide proof of having obtained their baccalaureate on 1is tour, with an average greater than or equal to 12/20 for the technical and professional scientific series or an average greater than or equal to 13/20 for the other series.

“SOSUP would like to clarify that orientations abroad are primarily reserved for public higher education establishments,” notes the press release, based on the provisions of decree no.o0065/PR/MESRSIT of February 12, 2024.
