CEPA begins electrical upgrade at El Salvador International Airport 2024-07-20 21:05:01

The Autonomous Executive Port Commission (CEPA) announced the Start of phase 1 of the electrical improvement project of El Salvador’s San Óscar Arnulfo Romero International Airport, with an investment of $3.9 million. This project, which is divided into three phases, totals $1.8 million. $15 million allocated to modernize facilities.

The plan includes the replacement of old transformers, installed since 1980, with new electrical equipment that will improve voltage stability at the airport.

CEPA President Federico Anliker He noted that the security strategies promoted by President Nayib Bukele have attracted a greater number of international visitors, which requires continuous modernization of the airport. In addition, additional investments are being made, such as the $12 million allocated to the expansion of the check-in area, which is already over 50% complete.

At the end of the project, the airport will have 122 points of attention for travelers, thus improving the offer of counters and offices for airlines, and avoiding the saturation of people in the facilities.
