The former Mufti of Akkar, Sheikh Zaid Bakkar Zakaria, condemned in a statement, “The killing of the Syrian detainee Bashar Al-Saud during his interrogation with the State Security Service in a horrific scene that we witnessed through filming, to remind us of the scene of police states and repressive regimes.”
He called for “stop these practices,” and called on lawyers and human rights organizations “to file lawsuits against them before the competent courts and even before the international criminal courts.”
