A violent tremor occurred Saturday morning at a depth of 900 meters in the Zwiwivka mine in southern Poland, accompanied by a large methane leak, killing four people until now, while the search continues for six missing miners.
And the “JSV” mining company announced in a statement today, Sunday, that “rescuers continue to search for six more workers… Conditions in the affected area are difficult,” noting that “methane concentrations and high temperatures are slowing down the rescue process.”
Of the 52 workers near the quake site, only 42 were able to return to the surface safely, knowing that 12 teams of rescuers were formed to try to find the rest.
