Press reports suggested that the American movie star, Johnny Depp, had implicitly criticized his ex-wife, Amber Heard, in two songs he released recently, following his victory in the court, which awarded him millions of dollars in damages.
According to the British newspaper, The Independent, it was Depp who wrote the two songs and criticized his ex-wife, as part of a collaboration with musician Jeff Buck.
Last month, Heard was convicted by a US jury of defamation of her ex-husband, ruling that Johnny Depp will receive $10 million in damages, along with other punitive damages from the court set at $5 million.
In the same vein, at the conclusion of the widely watched trial, the jury decided to pay Johnny Depp $2 million to Amber Heard, who appealed once morest the verdict.
In one clip of the song, Johnny Depp says, “I think you said enough, for one damn night,” and then added in another clip, “You sit there like a dog with itching for seven years… If I had a cent (of money) I wouldn’t throw it to you.”
It is expected that the album, which bears the name “18”, will be released on the fifteenth of July.
Meanwhile, Heard’s lawyer had previously stated that his client would not be able to pay the jury’s award.
If Heard is unable to pay the jury’s compensation, she must formally declare bankruptcy.
And if Heard declares bankruptcy, the aggrieved and adjudged person, in this case Johnny Depp, goes back to court in order to consider the possibility of extracting money from the convicted person’s assets.
