The “Marei Charitable Association” continued its work in the project of cleaning the Chekka Batroun Tunnel and lighting it from the inside, day and night, using solar energy.
After the association’s workshops and its mechanisms had finished washing and cleaning the tunnel walls with water and “abrasive” cleaning materials, and using tanks and water pumping machines, on the western lane from Tripoli to Beirut, the workshops moved to work in the western half of the lane heading from Beirut to Tripoli, following a patrol of forces closed Internal Security is half of this path, and I worked with the workers of the association to organize the traffic.
The administration of the association confirmed in a statement, that “work to clean the “tunnel” from the inside and install phosphorous signals will continue daily to be completed at maximum speed, in preparation for the launch of the second phase by lighting the tunnel with lamps on solar energy under the supervision of the Ministries of Energy and Public Works.”
The association appealed to “drivers heading from the north to Beirut and vice versa to be careful and careful when they reach the Chekka Al-Hari tunnel in both directions, given the work carried out by the association’s workshops, “bear us a little”, as we are working voluntarily for you.”
