(Ecofin Agency) – The Central Bank of Tunisia kept its key rate unchanged at 8%, following the meeting of its monetary policy committee held on Monday, December 11.
According to the committee, the current key rate will contribute to “ a continued deceleration of inflation in the coming period “, knowing that annual overall inflation continued its downward trend that began since March 2023. In November, the annual inflation rate stood at 8.3% compared to 8.6% in October, according to data from the National Institute of Statistics.
For this year, the institution expects overall annual inflation to be 9.3% compared to a rate of 8.3 recorded in 2022.
