A documentary, broadcast by Al-Arabiya, revealed a plot hatched by the Islamic Group behind prison walls to assassinate the great artist, Adel Imam.

Krum, who was taking advantage of his visit to his imprisoned father and receiving orders from the leaders behind bars, said that the Islamic Group issued a fatwa declaring Adel Imam to be apostate, announcing that the plan began with monitoring the leader in the vicinity of the pyramid theater, which was witnessing the performance of the play “Body Guard”.
He added, “After monitoring him for a while and knowing his dates, he is shot in front of the theater,” pointing out that the group considered that Imam crossed all red lines following the movie “The Terrorist.”
The documentary “Adel Imam.. An Egyptian Memory” presented exclusive testimonies of ministers and senior officials during the era of the late Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, researchers in political Islam, artists, critics, and rare interviews with Adel Imam regarding the scenes that are narrated for the first time regarding the life of the leader who reigned for 6 decades on the throne of Egyptian art.
