One thousand seven hundred billion FCFA will be disbursed to finance integrative projects with the CEMAC sub-region.
This is one of the major outcomes of the 15th Ordinary conference of Heads of State of the Economic and Monetary Community of Central Africa that had just ended in Yaounde.
The session that was attended by leaders of all the six member countries also resolve to give their support to the candidature of Chad in the race for the Presidency of presidency of the Agency for Aerial Navigation Safety in Africa and Madagascar, ASECNA.
New President for CEMAC Conference
One of the major outcomes of the conference is the implementation of the principle of rotation at the helm of the CEMAC Conference of Head of State in alphabetical order among member countries.
In this light, President Paul Biya of Cameroon who has been chairman of the conference since 2019 officially transferred the Chairmanship of CEMAC Conference of Heads of State to Prof. Faustin Archange Touadera President the Central African Republic.
The transfer was marked by the handing over of the CEMAC flag to the incoming President.
The ritual was following by the signing of the CEMAC anthem signaling the end of the 15th Ordinary Session of the Conference of the Heads of State of CEMAC held at the Unity Palace in Yaounde this Friday, March 17, 2023.
Integration in CEMAC is a Process
President Paul Biya of Cameroon, outing Chairman of the CEMAC Conference has officially declared close deliberations of the 15th Ordinary Conference of Heads of State of the Economic and Monetary Community of Central Africa following indicating that strides have been made and the integraion process is still ongoing.
Recognition of Personalities
Some of the architects of the integration process were recognized at the 15th Conference of CEMAC leaders.
About a dozen personalities of the CEMAC sub Region received community medals of honour for their work. The Medals were handed, on behalf of the Chairman of the Conference of Heads of State, by the Prime Minister of Cameroon, Joseph Dion Ngute.
Among the beneficiaries are the President of the CEMAC Commission, Daniel Ona Ondo, the President of the Council of Ministers, Alamine Ousmane Mey and other personalities.
