Celtics‘ Stifling Defense Makes Statement in Win Over Heat
Boston Celtics center Luke Kornet capped a dominant defensive performance by the Celtics, tying his career high with six blocked shots in a 108-89 victory over the Miami Heat on Monday. While Boston was without several key players, including two starters, they held Miami to 35.6% shooting (31 of 87) from the field.

“When he plays with that level of physicality on both ends of the floor, it makes our team different,” Mazzulla said about Kornet’s performance.
“I think his two biggest strengths are his physicality and rim protection when he’s at his best, and then his blocking against different coverages. I think we saw both of those throughout the game, and he just has to keep doing that. But when he plays at a high level, we are a different team, and we can go for different things.”
