Cellou Dalein Diallo: “We will make Guinea a respected country”

From exile, the president of the Ufdg addressed his compatriots on the occasion of the celebration of the 65th anniversary of Guinea’s independence. On this occasion, Cellou Dalein Diallo paid tribute to the founding fathers of the nation.

The former Prime Minister calls for remembering with “respect and gratitude these emblematic figures” whose sacrifices and determination made it possible to give Guinea the image of a “proud and dignified” people.

“As a liberal and democrat, I remain convinced that the accession to international sovereignty must necessarily be accompanied by the establishment of a rule of law capable of guaranteeing respect for the rights and freedoms of citizens, including that of freely choose their leaders,” declared Cellou Dalein Diallo.

Furthermore, the opponent reiterated his “dedication” and his “fidelity” to his “commitment to contribute to the establishment of democracy and the rule of law essential to the preservation of peace and national unity as well as the protection of fundamental rights and freedoms. Together, by honoring the past and building the future while respecting these values, we will make Guinea a respected, united and prosperous country,” he said.
