Cellist, “It was a lie at a drinking party in Cheongdam-dong,” testified to the police

The Seocho Police Station in Seoul investigated Mr. A for regarding 3 hours the day before. In the investigation, Mr. A is said to have stated, “I lied to deceive my ex-boyfriend.” Mr. A has been refusing to respond to the police summons, but is known to have appeared as the investigation network narrowed.

The police forensic the cell phone of Mr. B, the ex-boyfriend of Mr. A, who reported the suspicion of drinking to Democratic Party lawmaker Kim Eui-gyeom, and also confirmed that Mr. A was not at the bar following midnight. The police confirmed the location information by issuing a communication warrant for Lee Se-chang, former acting president of the Freedom Federation, who was designated as a drinking party, and concluded that they had left the bar around 10:00 pm.

Rep. Kim said in a text message to reporters that day, “The person who said he saw the so-called ‘Cheongdam-dong drinking party’ said to the police that it was a lie.” If the statement is true, as the first person to openly raise this suspicion, I express my deep regret to the people involved, including President Yoon Seok-yeol.”

Previously, on the 24th of last month, Congressman Kim asked a minister at the Ministry of Justice’s parliamentary audit, “Did you have a drink with 30 Kim & Chang lawyers and President Yoon at a bar in Cheongdam-dong on the late night of July 19-20?”

The police plan to investigate how the contents of Mr. A’s message to Mr. B were distributed and how the recording was passed on to Rep. Kim.
