Her latest news regarding her comes through her sister Claudette, who has spoken to Canada’s Le Journal de Montreal regarding the star’s efforts to find the best treatment for her.
It is not an easy task, because it is a rare disease that lacks a unified treatment protocol. Linda, another of her sisters, moved to live with her and the three children she had with her husband René Angélil, who died in 2016, in order to help her. “My sister Linda tells me that she is working hard and keeping up with the best researchers in the field of this rare disease. I honestly think she just needs to rest. She always goes above and beyond, she always tries to be the best and be at the highest level. When your heart and your body try to tell you something it is important to listen to them, ”she declared.

The singer is also working hard to maintain her physical shape with the aim of stepping back on stage in top form. No one in her family has any doubts regarding her recovery: “We trust her, acting is something innate for her. We haven’t found any medicine that works yet, but having hope is important.”
Dion herself announced her illness in December 2022 through a video: “I have been dealing with health problems for a long time and it has been very difficult for me to overcome these challenges and talk regarding everything I have been going through. I have recently been diagnosed with a rare neurological disease called ‘stiff person syndrome’ which affects one person in a million. Although we are still learning regarding this disease, we know that it is the cause of all the spasms that I have been suffering from. Unfortunately, the spasms affect every aspect of my daily life. Sometimes they make it difficult for me to walk and don’t allow me to use my vocal cords to sing like I used to.”
For this reason, Dion was forced to cancel the tour of Europe that she had scheduled in February 2023 to focus on continuing her treatment. Her recovery is undoubtedly the most important thing: her family and her fans await her with open arms.
