Could Celine Dion find a way out of his fight once morest the disease in the south of France? It is a possibility, since our colleagues from Midi Libre have learned that the entourage of the Canadian singer has contacted the Montpellier University Hospital. The latter is in the process of opening a new IHU, an institute which will be dedicated “to autoimmune diseases and innovative immunotherapies”.
The singer announced last December that she was suffering from a very rare disease, stiff person syndrome, or Stiff-Person Syndrome in English. It is an extremely rare neurological disease which prompted the artist to cancel a large part of his concerts scheduled for 2023, all postponed to 2024.
No existing treatment
The future IHU of Montpellier I hope one day to be able to cure this disease. Indeed, there is currently no cure for the antibody the singer is developing today that is disrupting her muscles, so the goal is to find one.
To our colleagues, the future director of the Christian Jorgensen Institute explains that with their platform, we can “contact, and we can offer tailor-madeput ten researchers on a particular issue”. What can advance research for Celine Dion, even if Christian Jorgensen says that for the moment, nothing has been decided.
