Celine Dion Slams Trump for Unauthorized Use of Titanic Song, Then Mocks Him

The artist publicly criticizes, through a press release, the unauthorized use of his most famous song by Trump and Vance for a rally in Montana.

Celine Dion wand Donald Trump e JD Vance. The singer, fresh from her recent participation in the Paris 2024 Olympic opening ceremony, published a statement on her official social pages denouncing the unauthorized use of the song “My heart will go on” in a recent rally. The statement is addressed to both the Republican presidential candidate and his vice president, JD Vance.

The statement against Trump and JD Vance

The statement reads, “Celine Dion’s management and her record company Sony Music Entertainment Canada have become aware of unauthorized use of videos, recordings and musical performances of the song My Heart Will Go On at a rally in Montana. This was in no way authorized and Celine Dion does not approve of this type of operation. The statement ends sarcastically with a question that seems to allude to the shipwreck, on which the film starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet, of which Dion’s song is the soundtrack, is based: “Really that song?”

Celine Dion and her recent health problems

It’s been two weeks since Celine Dion’s last public outing, the first after a long absence. The singer took part in the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, performing Hymne à l’amour, a story song by Edith Piaf, performed from a stage set up on the Eiffel Tower. A moment that was nothing short of triumphant, not only for the context in which it took place but also for the emotional burden due to the health problems the singer suffers from, the rare rigid person syndrome, which forced her to stay away from the scene for a long time.
