Celine Dion releases new songs for the first time since announcing her illness

The new album, “Love Again,” is the soundtrack to the movie of the same name and features five new songs as well as older hits. It will be released on May 12, at the same time as the film in Canadian theaters.

This is the first album since “Courage” in 2019 by the Quebec star, who also appears on the poster for this romantic comedy.

“I had a lot of fun making this film. And having the privilege of appearing alongside talented actors Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Sam Heughan in my very first feature film is a gift I will forever cherish,” said in a Celine Dion press release.

“I think it’s a wonderfully heartwarming story, and I hope people like it and the new songs,” the singer added.

In a video of almost five minutes posted in December Celine Dion, visibly very moved, had announced the postponement of the European dates of her tour and had told of experiencing “health problems for a long time”.

“Recently, I was diagnosed with a very rare neurological disorder, called in English + stiff-person syndrome + (stiff person syndrome)”, she explains.

This disorder, which is characterized in particular by progressive muscular rigidity, causes Celine Dion to have difficulty walking and prevents her from “using (her) vocal cords” as she would like.

“We do not yet know everything regarding this rare disease but we now know that it is the cause of the muscle spasms from which I suffer,” she continues.

Her tour, titled “Courage World Tour”, began in 2019 and the singer performed the first 52 concerts before the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic in early 2020. The superstar then announced that she was canceling the north- American on this tour because of her health problems.
