Lily Allen

Lily Allen suffered terrible moments in November 2010 while she was six months pregnant. She gave birth to a stillborn son and nearly lost hers soon following. She described the loss of her child as something she “wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy,” adding, “It’s not something you get over.” In the days following the harrowing delivery, Ella Lily faced death when she was rushed to hospital with a birth-related blood poisoning infection.

Tori Spelling

Tori Spelling is a mother of five, making her a birthing expert, but during her fourth pregnancy, her life hung in the balance. While she was expecting her son Finn by her, Ella Tori developed a placenta previa that caused nine internal bleeds and she was forced to spend 10 weeks in the hospital with close monitoring by doctors. Tori even had to discuss with the doctors whether she should terminate the pregnancy. According to doctors, the disease arose as a result of her waiting only a month to become pregnant once more. She carried Finn to the end, but soon following she had to go back to the hospital for emergency surgery following the surgical scars burst.

Jane Seymour

Actress Jane Seymour is best known for being the 1973 Bond girl, and her life outside of the movies has been just as dramatic. When she was married to actor James Keach, Jane became pregnant with twins in 1995, but she suffered a condition known as preeclampsia that forced her to undergo an emergency caesarean section to save her life and that of the little ones.

Kim Kardashian

Kim Kardashian had two traumatic pregnancies with her children North and Saint, which led her to resort to surrogacy for her next two children. The reality star suffered from pre-eclampsia, forcing her to give birth to North five weeks before her due date, which came a week following she finalized her divorce from Kris Humphries. Also, Ella Kim suffered from placenta accreta, so she had to undergo surgery to recover. Doctors advised her that if she became pregnant a third time, her life was in grave danger and it was unlikely that she would be able to carry her babies to term.

Gwyneth Paltrow

Goop founder Gwyneth Paltrow found herself in grave danger during her third pregnancy following the birth of her two children, Apple and Moses. In a blow to Gwyneth and her then-husband, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, the pregnancy ended in miscarriage, with Gwyneth telling YOU magazine: “I had a really bad experience when I was pregnant with the third. regarding to die.”

Tennis star Serena Williams opened up regarding her difficult birth to CNN in 2018. While giving birth to her daughter Olympia, she suffered a pulmonary embolism and bruise. Model Adriana Lima is one of the many stars who faced pre-eclampsia during her pregnancy when she gave birth to her daughter Valentina at 34 weeks. After her delivery, doctors kept Valentina in the intensive care unit for two weeks to monitor her. Adriana revealed that this time was “stressful” and said that she felt upset that she might not have her daughter at home with her.

Beyoncé

Despite the fact that Beyoncé remains reserved when it comes to her personal life, especially in regards to her children, the interpreter of ‘Crazy in Love’ was honest with Vogue magazine regarding the life-threatening situation in which was at the time of giving birth to her twins, Rumi and Sir. She recalled: “I was swollen from toxemia and had been on bed rest for over a month. My health and the health of my babies were in jeopardy so I had an emergency C-section. We spent many weeks in intensive care.”

Mariah Carey is a pop megastar adored by fans around the world, but when she had to give birth to her twins in 2011, she almost didn’t make it out alive. Mariah herself developed gestational diabetes, as well as pre-eclampsia, which might have caused a life or death situation if she wasn’t watched so closely.
