Joël Legendre, the director of the “Celebration 2022” gala presented on TVA on Sunday, promises an evening full of emotions, funny and completely different from previous editions.

Hosted by the couple Julie Ringuette and Pascal Morrissette, accompanied by the host of “The Goose with the Golden Eggs” Sébastien Benoit, the gala broadcast live will crown many winners, including a new millionaire, in addition to offering services touching, dancing and original musicals.

On stage, Lara Fabian, who is celebrating her 30 years of love with Quebec, will perform a medley of songs that are dear to her and that have never been sung on TV. Marjo, who has a 45-year career, will revisit her great successes in a sometimes exploded theatrical universe, while Alicia Moffet will unveil a new song, which has remained unpublished until then, in a completely circus world.
“Each painting was quite complex to assemble. This year, the complexity comes from the fact that we decided to use a very modern decor, much more refined and without dancers. The challenge was therefore to furnish the image when there is sometimes only one person on this huge stage, ”said the director during an interview with the QMI Agency.
Joël Legendre also admitted that this idea of keeping things simple fell on target, when the new health restrictions came to throw a veil on the artistic community, just before the Holidays.
“We had the idea before the announcement of the new measures. It has nothing to do with the pandemic, but it sure does a bit our business. It would have been a bit difficult to have a lot of dancers. It’s a bit as if we had a vision of what awaited us, ”he said with a laugh.
For their part, the ex-academicians Queenie and Dashny will celebrate the 50th anniversary of a popular musical style, played in 2022 with, at the end, a collaboration with a major artist, underlined the director without wanting to reveal more. “It’s going to throw everyone to the ground. We were really happy that this person agreed to join Queenie and Dashny, ”he said while keeping the mystery alive.
Vincent Vallières, Salebarbes and Les Pôline will also perform on the stage of the Théâtre du Casino du Lac-Leamy, during this great Loto-Quebec mass.
Participants in the televised gala will be able to get their hands on prizes ranging from $ 25,000 to $ 100,000, while the big winner of the evening will take home $ 1 million.
For house ticket holders, a $ 5 million jackpot, five $ 1 million prizes and 20 Audi E-Tron Sportback Quattro electric cars valued at $ 95,000 will also be drawn live on Sunday.
The “Celebration 2022” gala, directed by Pierre Séguin and produced by Dotti & Cie, will be presented this Sunday, from 7 pm, on TVA.
