“Reveal to the Lord your way and hope in him, and he will do” (Psalm 15, v. 5).
Reveal to the Lord with confidence the path and the pursuits and the needs of your life and trust in Him and He will do what you ask and need.
With this trust and hope, Joachim and Anna begged and prayed to God to give them a child, to have a sweet consolation in her old age.
And God made her hope come true. He gave her the Virgin Mary, who was destined to give birth to the Savior of the world and to shine as the most blessed of women.
It was she from whom He who would crush the head of the mental serpent was to come. In the Old Testament she was given prototypes of the Most Holy Theotokos.
One is also the reed at Sinai, which although flames of fire had surrounded it, it did not burn. It was a depiction of the Virgin, who would give birth to Christ the Savior and at the same time preserve her virginity. Thus, Anna and Joachim, who were from the family of David, with the strong hope they had in God obtained from Him the desired gift, which will accompany the world until the end of centuries.
