Cecilia Moreau received National Parks authorities in Deputies

Within the framework of the debate of the projects included in the extraordinary sessions, the president of the Chamber of Deputies of the Nation, Cecilia Moreau, received this followingnoon the vice president of National Parks, Natalia Gabriela Jauri, and other authorities of the environmental organization.

The reason for the meeting was to discuss the bill that accepts the transfer of jurisdiction made by the province of Chaco to the national State for the creation of the National Park and National Reserve “Laguna El Palmar”.

The place, located 54 kilometers from Resistencia, has 5,600 hectares of land and wetlands that include the Laguna El Palmar. It has a great biological diversity and represents one of the identity ecosystems of the Chaco, which is why its preservation as a protected area is sought.

The initiative, which has been approved by the Senate, was included by the Executive Branch for the call for extraordinary sessions, a period that will run from January 23 to February 28. In Deputies, it will be debated this Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. in the Commission on Natural Resources and Conservation of the Human Environment.
