One of the features of the updated version of The Witcher 3, in addition to photo mode, improved graphics and deeper settings, is improved voice acting in Russian. In the next-gen version, characters no longer speak too fast or too slowly.
Many players thought that in this way CD Projekt RED gives chances for its return to Russia, but it’s too early to rejoice. According to the Polish company, the reworked voice acting was ready back in 2021 when the localization team was working on it.
According to a representative of CD Projekt RED, the company has not changed its position regarding the suspension of activities in Russia:
The localization team completed their work on the nextgen version at the end of 2021. We want to emphasize that, in accordance with our decision, we have stopped cooperation with Russia. We will continue to adhere to our position.
All gamers from Russia complained regarding problems with voice acting. Dubbing actors said that the reason for talking too fast or too slow was the mistakes of the sound engineers.
As for the Ukrainian voice acting, the issue of which has been very acute on Twitter in recent days, it may appear in CDPR games. Polish developers said that they have been working on this issue for a long time, but are not yet ready to share details or talk regarding something specific.
The Witcher 3 Remastered is available on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
